Working Process of Cup Holder Making Machine
Pulping System:
The paper cup holder production line utilizes a wide range of recycled paper materials, including waste newspapers, magazines, corrugated cartons, paper boxes, and other recyclable waste paper as raw materials. These materials are mixed with water and processed in a hydraulic pulper, where they are broken down into uniform fiber slurry.
The pulp slurry then passes through a vibration screening system to remove impurities, while heavy contaminants such as sand and debris are separated and discharged. After purification, the pulp enters the refining system for further beating and fiber treatment to improve bonding strength and product quality.
According to specific production requirements, additives, waterproof agents, oil-resistant chemicals, and color pigments can be incorporated during this stage. The mixture is thoroughly stirred to achieve the ideal pulp consistency and uniform fiber distribution.
Finally, the prepared pulp is transferred to the pulp supply tank, where it is stored and continuously supplied to the molding machine for the next production stage. As a core section of the molded pulp production line, the pulping system plays a vital role in determining the forming quality, strength, surface finish, and overall performance of the final cup holder products.
Forming System:
The forming system is one of the most critical stages in the pulp molded cup holder production process. It directly affects product quality, breakage rate, energy consumption, and overall production efficiency. To better illustrate this process, the highly recognized HGHY Rotary Cup Holder Machine is used as an example.
The rotary forming machine is available in multiple configurations, including 4-face, 6-face, 8-face, and 12-face models, and can be equipped with interchangeable molds for different molded pulp products such as cup holders, egg trays, egg cartons, fruit trays, bottle trays, and other customized packaging solutions.
The system primarily operates through advanced vacuum suction forming technology. The prepared pulp slurry from the pulp supply tank is continuously delivered to the molding machine. During operation, vacuum suction draws the pulp fibers evenly onto the surface of the forming mold, creating a uniform fiber layer. The wet product is then transferred and shaped through coordinated forming and transfer molds, producing the initial wet cup tray structure.
Throughout the vacuum forming process, a significant amount of water is removed from the pulp, improving forming efficiency and reducing the drying load in subsequent production stages. The complete forming cycle typically takes only 3–7 seconds, enabling high-speed continuous production.
At this stage, the molded wet tray has already formed its basic shape and structural profile, although it has not yet developed final hardness or strength. The quality and precision of the forming process play a vital role in ensuring consistent product dimensions, smooth surfaces, and stable performance in later drying and hot pressing stages.
Drying system:
After the holder are formed, the wet Cup Carrier embryos are transferred to a conveyor belt using a transfer mold. Sufficient hot air is then blown evenly across the surface of the pulp-molded products to remove the evaporated water. Once dried, the products proceed to the automatic stacking and shrink packaging process.
Hot Press System:
Online Hot Press: The wet, molded cartons are automatically transferred to the hot press section through a continuous conveying system, ensuring seamless integration with the forming process.
Heating and Pressing: The hot press unit applies both high temperature and controlled pressure simultaneously. Heated molds or pressing plates rapidly remove moisture while locking in the desired shape. This process significantly improves product density, surface smoothness, and overall structural strength.
Continuous Operation: Unlike traditional batch processing, the online hot press system operates in a fully continuous mode, allowing uninterrupted production flow. This greatly enhances production efficiency, reduces downtime, and ensures stable, high-output manufacturing performance across the entire production line.
